Dane County will receive around 500 sets of vouchers that will be distributed on a first come-first serve basis to qualified seniors. Each set of vouchers is for a total of $25 for the season in $2 and $3 increments. We can only distribute one set of vouchers per household. Household is defined as anyone, related or not, living together sharing expenses.

Eligibility requirements are age, address and income. You must be 60 years old or over. You must live in Dane County. Your income must be under 185% of the poverty level. The 2010 guidelines have not been set as of yet for this year. Up until May 31, 2010 agencies will be using the 2009 income guideline which for a one-person household would be under $20,036 (gross) per year (or $1,670 a month), and under $25,900 (gross) per year  (or $2,247  a month) for a two-person household. You may have to prove your eligibility. Please bring identification with a birth date and one of the following: your income tax form, homestead form, your social security allotment statement and any other income, your review letter from subsidized housing, your Forward (MA) or Quest (Food Share) cards.  Vouchers can not be mailed.

If you need someone to pick up vouchers for you, a friend, family member or Case Manager must be designated by you prior to coming and picking up the vouchers for you. This can be done by requesting and filling out the application form prior to the pick up date and giving your filled out and signed application, I.D., and income verification to the person who will be picking up your vouchers.

For further information, you may contact a Dane County Senior Center of your choice.
