Cultural Diversity
Projects
This program works
to increase social opportunities and health education to
Madison's culturally diverse senior population. Yolanda Salazar runs our
programs for Madison's older Latinos and Naomi Carter organizes informational
and support groups for Madison's African American seniors. Transportation
for a number of outings and trips is furnished to these seniors.
For more information see The Golden Times, or call Naomi at 243-5252
Home Chore Program
The Volunteer Home Chore Program was developed in 1986 to assist frail, limited income senior adults with basic home chores to help them remain independent and living in their own homes. Community volunteers are matched with income-eligible seniors to provide light housekeeping, laundry, yard work, snow shoveling, and light repairs. Matches are made based both on the need of the senior adult and the interests and time constraints of the volunteers. Call 243-5252 or contact Kryn at
khoyer-winfield@nescoinc.org
for more details
